Chateau Vaudieu, Chateauneuf du Pape 2007
Topkvalitet og en nærmest afgrundsdyb respekt for terroiret og arbejdet i marken er nøgleord igennem hele produktionen for Laurent Bréchet og hans medarbejdere. Med benhård beskæring og udtynding af bladhænget arbejder de med meget lave høstudbytter, helt ned mod 30 hektoliter pr. hektar. Alle druer selekteres i marken og håndhøstes. På denne måde sikres det bedst mulige druemateriale og transporten fra vinstok til vineri bliver så hurtig og skånsom som muligt. Alt sammen for at bevare størst mulig terroir-karakter i den færdige vin.
Vinen er lavet på 60% Grenache Noir, 24% Syrah og 16% Cinsault/Mouvedre med et hektarudbytte på 30 hektoliter. Druernes modningsgrad følges nøje i perioden op til høsttidspunktet. Alle druer fra de 32 seperate parceller testes og smages dagligt efter veraison (farveskiftet). Herefter høstes parcellerne enkeltvis på det mest optimale tidspunkt.

One of the oldest estates in Chateauneuf du Pape (the winery, which is actually a true chateau, was constructed in the mid-1700s), Chateau de Vaudieu is located adjacent to Rayas, just a few kilometers northeast of the village. One of the appellation-s largest estates (175 acres in vine), Vaudieu-s quality has soared over recent years as the famed oenologist Philippe Cambie has been working here since 2003."
